StudyNow at school
A personal planner for years 5–10 and upper school. Timetable, homework and tests – and everything that is entered stays on the pupil’s device.
Where StudyNow helps
- Keep track of homeworkHomework “for the next lesson” – the app finds the lesson. In the afternoon, an overview for tomorrow if wanted.
- Plan learning aheadTests and exams with topics, preparation tasks and study blocks. In upper school, free periods become study time.
- Assess your own progressOptional and without grades: short look-backs on a subject, always with “No answer”. Plus weekly goals you choose yourself.
Principles
StudyNow is a personal planner, not a classroom tool.
All data only on the device
No account, no server with pupil data, no ads, no usage analytics.
No access for teachers
Not by other routes either, such as “show me your phone”. Tasks, look-backs and plans belong to the learner.
Look-backs stay optional
Assessments of understanding or interest play no part in grading or attendance checks.
No disadvantage for not using it
A homework diary is just as good. StudyNow is currently available for iPhone and iPad.
Data protection
What data is created – and where it lives
StudyNow transmits no entries to us or to the school. As we hold no data about the children, we cannot hand any out or delete any either; deleting the app removes everything from the device.

Online only when triggered
For example when a timetable is loaded from a link: the app fetches the file once, with no subscription. Files are read on the device, not uploaded.
Discreet notifications
No alert for every lesson. In years 5–10 the lock screen only shows “You have a reminder”; a quiet time (by default 8 pm to 7 am) keeps evening and night free.
Backups with care
A backup is only created when the child exports it. It is not encrypted and contains all entries.
A shared device is not protected
Learning areas are no user protection. Whoever unlocks the device sees everything.
Clarify before you start
This page describes what the app does technically. It does not replace an assessment by the school, its governing body and data protection officers. Whether and how StudyNow is used in lessons, whether consent is required and how parents are informed – please clarify this beforehand with the head teacher and the data protection officer; it depends on state law and on how the app is used.

Providing the timetable
One of the ways is enough. A basic timetable is not a cover plan – the school’s announcements remain authoritative.
School template
Recommended for years 5–10: a teacher sets up the class timetable in the app once and shares it. Without tasks, without look-backs; teachers’ names only on explicit request. Whoever opens it chooses electives or courses themselves.
Calendar file
A personal export from WebUntis or the school portal (.ics).
Spreadsheet
A .csv file from the school administration; the columns are described in the file format.
Enter it yourself
Without a file, learners enter the timetable in the timetable editor – about ten minutes.
Share templates through the usual school channel – learning platform or the school’s messenger – not on a public website.
Classroom routines
Suggestions. If smartphones are not allowed in lessons, learners enter things at home from their homework diary.
Years 5/6
At the end of the lesson, enter a task together (“For the next lesson”); check “tomorrow” in the afternoon. 1–2 minutes.
Years 7/8
On Mondays, plan the week’s tasks and choose a weekly goal. 3–5 minutes.
Years 9/10
Enter tests, split preparation into tasks and study blocks. 5–10 minutes a week.
Upper school
Check course choices, plan free periods as study time, prepare for exams. 5–10 minutes a week.
