Achievements
The Achievements tab shows medals, all calculated from your own data. They count per semester: next semester everything is open again, and the past one keeps its medals.
Which semesters. This tab shows the semesters that are active in Settings. Switch a semester off and it disappears from Achievements; its medals are kept and come back as soon as you switch it on again. If several are active, you first see tiles with name, status and medal count; a tap opens the semester, Back returns to the tiles.
The layout. Inside each semester comes Semester overall with the on-time tracker first, then the weeks across all courses, then one section per course to unfold. Next to every heading is how many medals are already there.
What there is to earn per semester:
| Achievement | What for |
|---|---|
| Ready to go | Every course of the semester fully set up |
| Full picture | Every rating scale used at least once |
| On time I–IV | 60, 70, 80 and 90 percent of your deadlines marked done in time |
| Honest | Recorded the unflattering three times as well |
| Saw it through | Semester wrapped up with nothing left to fill in |
Per course there is All set up — everything that belongs to it entered — and the weeks.
The weeks. Every week of the semester gets a tile, five to a row. Tapping one shows the date range, what is still missing, and that week's three badges:
| Badge | What for |
|---|---|
| Week kept up | Every session and deadline of the week has a status — “did not attend” counts too |
| Week rated | On top of that, every scale filled in where it applies |
| There for it | You were at every attendable session, or caught up later |
- A week without entries asks for nothing and stays pale.
- A week that is still running only shows what is already there — badges are awarded after the weekend.
- Filling in works retroactively: an old week still becomes complete.
- A week with deadlines only does not offer “There for it”. You do not go anywhere to hand something in.
- Cancelled sessions do not count at all — they ask for no status.
The on-time tracker. It counts how many deadlines you marked done in time: up to the exact time if you set one, otherwise until the end of the due date. All four tiers are shown, and for each whether it is still within reach. While the semester runs the count is provisional — every new deadline shifts the targets.
The tracker counts your entry, not your submission: the app cannot know more. Filling in late still completes week badges, but it does not make a missed deadline punctual after the fact. And there is no leaderboard — it is just for you.
If you have no deadlines yet, it says “No deadlines yet”: no percentage, no claim. For deadlines you completed before version 5.0 the time is missing; then it says “Not verifiable for this semester” — nothing is guessed.
Wrapping up the semester. Once the semester is over and every entry has a status, Wrap up semester appears. That earns you Saw it through and locks in the on-time tiers, so a deadline added later cannot lower them. You can reopen it at any time — then everything is recalculated, and Saw it through is gone until you wrap up again.
Every achievement shows its criterion in plain words, not a lock. “Every scale used at least once” is a nudge; a padlock is not.
Illness costs you nothing. A session you caught up on counts like one you attended; an excused exam and a cancelled session do no harm. And for keeping a week up, “did not attend” is as good as any other status: entered is entered.
The presentation. When you earn a medal, it is presented to you: a short animation with a tap of haptic feedback, no sound. While catching up it appears after Done, as the next entry is already opening; tapping ends it. If several land at once, at most three come one after another. Tapping a medal you have earned in the list plays it again. Week badges are not presented — a dozen would arrive at once; they light up in the tiles.
Honest is a deliberate counterweight: it counts how often you recorded something unflattering — absent, missed, not submitted. If you only record what went well, in the end you are measuring your own leniency. It only appears in the list once you earn it: you should not have to miss anything to get it.
Medals are recalculated from your data on every visit and stored nowhere — only wrapping up a semester is kept. If you delete data, the medals that came from it disappear again.
The widget
On iPhone and iPad, StudyNow also comes as a widget for the home screen – a small version of the calendar. To add it: touch and hold the home screen → + → StudyNow → Timetable. …
Reminders
Settings → Reminders. There are two switches, because these are two different things. iOS asks for permission once when you switch them on.
